PowerPoint
PowerPoint can be used to teach new ideas and concepts to students. In theory this sounds very good; however, in practice this can be tricky. The teacher must anticipate areas of misunderstanding and difficulty. Once the teacher knows the troubles, which the students will face, he or she can create or adapt a presentation for the students. The presentation must be clear and uncluttered. It should address anticipated areas of student difficulty in an orderly manner. This type of presentation is difficult to prepare, but it can be done. Once an initial teaching presentation is prepared, it can be saved and used again and again, and it can be shared with others.

I really like the use of Powerpoint on this class. I learned on how to use Hyperlinks and I realized this make the presentation very interactive with the audience . On both examples jeorpardy and pictionary you are using different elements like visual aid and written content as well. I really liked this lesson
ReplyDeleteI agree with Mary Ann this class was very fun and useful for us; I specially enjoyed making the jeopardy game.
ReplyDeleteThe important thing about using Power Point is that this tool already comes with your computer; then, using it would be very helpful and simple. It is easier to explain it to the students and for them to practice with it.
ReplyDeleteI do agree with Fanny, the advantages of Power Point are that it is a program that is usually found (installed) in all computers and it is very easy to use. It was fun to carry out the jeopardy since it was a game I never heard about before, but it was simple to do it in the Power Point.
ReplyDeleteI never knew that this tool could also be used in an effective way to play games or as an educational resource, as the Pictionary. Before this when I heard Power Point I used to only relate it with formal college presentation, but now things have changed and it has been prove that there are many ways in which we could take advantage, as educators, of this so familiar tool to do not become boring our lessons. In summary, Power Point is an excellent tool!!
Power point is a very useful tool. It makes classes more interactive and it is easier for audience (students in this case) to follow different topics without losing specific points. Of course we must be very careful when using PowerPoint; we are trying to be very direct when using and so many people are used to put so much information in the slides and it gets people really bored.
